Farfetch, the leader in luxury e-commerce, is preparing to accept cryptocurrency payment in the era of modern technology, sweeping the world with digital profits. This decision constitutes an important step that will have an impact on e-commerce around the world.
Farfetch is a British-Portuguese luxury fashion and accessories retail platform, partnering with more than 700 stores and brands around the world. It was established in 2007 by a Portuguese entrepreneur named Josie Neves. Its headquarters are in London and its main offices are in the Portuguese cities of Lisbon and Porto.
It is expected to be traded first to customers in the United States and Europe, and Farfetch.com will accept trading in seven cryptocurrencies, including: “Bitcoin” (BTC), “Ethereum” (ETH), and “Baines Coin” (BNB).
But the difficulty lies in this matter compared to national currencies, while digital currencies change very quickly. But many tests confirmed that most stores beat this, as the Lunu payment terminal applies the best available cryptocurrency exchange rate at the times of the transaction. Customers can scan a QR code via a smartphone. Farfetch CEO Josie Neves said in a statement that this step is crucial in the field of e-commerce. He added: "We are constantly innovating and seeking to form a bridge between the luxury industry and new technologies that are within the reach of the customer today."
