According to the company's blog post, an unauthorized third party gained access to an employee's computer and sent an email titled "The Sandbox Game (PURELAND) Access" containing links to malware. Clicking on the links could potentially result in personal information being compromised. The Sandbox has reset the employee's account passwords and notified all recipients of the phishing email. The game has recently experienced high-value phishing scams, including two hacks that resulted in the theft of $1.8 million worth of crypto NFTs by a scammer known as Monkey Drainer.
