MStable, a decentralized platform for stablecoin exchange, has been facing challenges due to falling revenue and the departure of key team members, including a co-founder. However, the platform's supporters are seeking to rescue it by exploring merger options with other teams. At least four DeFi projects are expected to submit acquisition proposals for mStable, with dHEDGE being the first to do so.
The successful buyer will acquire mStable's assets, team, and technology, including its smart contract-based vaults for generating yield on stablecoin deposits. The governance token holders of MTA will decide which proposal to accept. MStable's yield generation service held over $11 million in crypto assets at press time, making it the 18th-largest DeFi outpost for Collateralized Debt Positions. The bidding process follows a month-long effort by key contributors to save mStable.
Co-founder James Simpson had proposed either shutting down the platform, reducing operations, or pursuing an acquisition by another DeFi project. DHEDEGE's bid, which is the only one at present, does not include a token swap or any other compensation for token holders.
