EOS Blockchain, which initially raised $4 billion in its ICO but was criticized for having little to show in its early years, is making a comeback. The network aims to revitalize its growth and network activity by supporting application developers and implementing upgrades such as a consensus mechanism and an Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) solution. The EOS Network Foundation, led by CEO Yves La Rose, is spearheading these efforts, which include plans to release an EVM mainnet on April 14th with subsequent updates and improvements.
The EVM compatibility is critical to EOS's potential, and the foundation hopes to welcome more Solidity developers and users to its platform through the EVM. The foundation has also launched a grants program to fund developers working on such applications, with grants ranging from $10,000 to over $50,000 depending on the size and scope of the initiative.
