Coinbase is planning to add two popular decentralized finance apps, Uniswap and Aave, to its Base layer 2 network. The Base network, built using the Ethereum-scaling protocol Optimism, uses ETH for network fees. A person familiar with the situation stated that Uniswap will likely be added to Base within a couple of months. Despite the recent turmoil in the crypto industry, decentralized apps have remained resilient. Coinbase's move to incubate a decentralized blockchain network demonstrates the firm's understanding of the value attached to ecosystems. Uniswap is also set to be linked to Binance's BNB Chain platform following a recent governance vote.
