Shiba Inu's lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, has provided an estimated timeline for the beta-testing phase of the Shibarium layer-2 project. The testnet, called Puppynet, could be up and running in two months but the testing period may extend until July 2023. During this time, the team will identify and fix any issues in the system. Shibarium is built on top of Ethereum and is similar to Polygon. SHIB has already released the beta version of Shibarium, allowing beta testers to explore the testnet. Kusama warns that coins in the beta form are not real and users should not spend their SHIB trying to accumulate these tokens. After the beta test is complete, Shibarium will create a new ecosystem of custom coins that can be traded using BONE to pay for gas fees. SHIB is currently trading for $0.000011.
