Reuters reports that Thailand has introduced a tax incentive for companies that issue digital tokens for investment, which could potentially cost the government 35 billion baht ($1 billion). The government has agreed to exempt companies that raise capital through digital tokens from corporation and value-added taxes, instead of traditional methods. In recent months, Thailand's financial regulator has implemented stricter rules around cryptocurrency advertising, banned crypto firms from offering staking and lending services, and established regulations for crypto custody. Additionally, the country's central bank has been involved in international trials for central bank digital currencies.
