The French National Assembly has passed new regulations for crypto firms following the collapse of FTX. The Financial Market Authority (AMF) Chairwoman, Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani, has stated that the regulator will clarify the new requirements for crypto firms to register in the country, and that extra checks on cybersecurity will be an important element of the new rules. Barbat-Layani also noted that the French crypto license conditions will be adapted to align with the new European regulations on Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA). Despite the collapse of FTX, Barbat-Layani urged politicians not to condemn the entire industry, stating that digital finance should not be blamed for the actions of one company any more than traditional finance was blamed for the Madoff scandal.
